但今天我們要學的單字可沒這麼簡單，
會想到這個主題是因為有一天學生問我「拉人中」該怎麼說，我還真的不知道呢！
（事後 Google 才知道人中是 philtrum）

Widow’s peak 寡婦尖？
其實是美人尖！名字的由來跟巫婆傳說有關：
The name can be traced back to 18th century England, where this hairline was originally thought to be a bad omen, signaling early widowhood. During this period, widows would typically wear a hat or hood that pointed down the middle of their forehead to signal widowhood. Thus, when a woman was born with this hairline that created a similar look to the headpiece worn by widows, it was assumed that that would be her fate.（這個名字可以追溯到 18 世紀的英格蘭，人們當初認為這種髮線是不祥之兆，代表早期喪偶。當時的寡婦通常會戴帽子或兜帽，其尖端垂下到前額中間，以表明自己是寡婦。所以當女生出生時如果她的髮線與寡婦的頭飾相似，人們就認為喪夫是她的命運。）
（ps, 這不禁讓我想起在台灣的面相學中，認為顴骨高的女人有『克夫命』！）
