Did you watch the Oscars?
Nope. Well, neither did we. To be honest with you, big and flashy celebrity events are not normally our thing. Although, we did enjoy the Golden Globes (金球獎) when it was presented by the brilliant British comedian Ricky Gervais. If you want to see celebrities being “roasted”(被炎上、被嗆、吐槽), watch his monologue on YouTube.

Many people expressed their excitement over Michelle Yeoh(楊紫瓊)being the first Asian woman to win an Oscar. What is its significance in your opinion?
What have we been watching recently?
最後生還者 The Last of Us | HBO original | Drama | 1 season 9 episodes
Adapted from the back story of a video game, The Last of Us is a refreshing addition to the zombie genre. The story follows the development of a man and a girl who weaves through the country for a mission. Each episode flows like a chapter in a book that carves out their personalities without wasting any lines and scenes. The narrative is non-chronological(不按時間順序), punctuated with gut-wrenching songs of the post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Mr. S, “Although more drama than action, The Last of Us is a cinematic experience you won’t want to pass up.”
Retro Focus | YouTube series from ABC News
This is a retrospective collection of interviews and videos from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC News). Hence the name Retro in the title, 回顧性. They offer illuminating insights on how people used to think back in the day. This series has become a recurring theme in my online classes. One of our favorites is a street interview in which people answer the question, “should husbands watch the birth of their children?”.
