I took a trip to Target, one of the largest retailers in the US. For beauty lovers who travel to the US, you almost have to make it one of your destinations. I can surely confirm that the hype is real. Although 4 items hardly make a “haul”, I’m still sharing, because all of them have become a staple1 for me.
A haul, in a world of consumerism, means the spoils 戰利品 you acquire from a shopping trip. It is a bit different from 開箱文, which is unboxing.

Also known as Vitamin B3 菸鹼酸,has gained mainstream popularity over the past few years. It is multifunctional 多功能的 - brightening 提亮的, hydrating, and maintains the barrier function 屏護功能 of the skin, although some people might find it slightly irritating. 刺激的

Hit & Miss (n)
有好有壞的。Some brands are hit and miss, meaning that shopping those brands sometimes require a bit of luck and online research, because while some products work wonders3, other may be duds4.
A brow mascara (n)
It is a 眉毛膏。Brow is short for eyebrow. A mascara sometimes also refers to 睫毛膏, for your lashes. Labeled above is a thickening brow mascara, meaning that it adds fibers 纖維 to make your brows appear thicker and fuller, like the 野生眉 trend.
A hack (n)
A hack usually refers to a tip or trick that is so simple yet so life-changing. 如妙招。Common online collocations are “life hack”, 生活小妙招, “kitchen hack” or “beauty hack”.
The example I gave in the livestream is when my mother used mascara for lashes on her brows. This was when brow gels or brow mascaras did not exist. It was my mother’s beauty hack. Someone in the comment section also mentioned that a professional makeup artist sometimes uses mascara as an eyeliner with an angled brush 斜角刷! Isn’t that wonderful!
