限動（一）如何形容「氣勢」

這種特質有正向的 strong presence 氣場強烈、stage presence 舞台魅力，或是負面的 domineering (adj) 氣勢凌人、coming on strong (phrase) 強勢或逼迫。

也可以簡單地說 unfriendly (adj) 不友善，或 unapproachable (adj) 和 out of reach 去形容不好親近的。

Marylin Monroe had a very strong presence on screen. 瑪麗蓮夢露在銀幕上有很強烈的魅力。
At 5 years old, that boy already has an amazing stage presence. 雖然才五歲，這位小弟弟就很有舞台魅力。
My boss has a domineering manner1 and always thinks he is right. 我老闆相當氣勢凌人，總是覺得自己是對的。
My uncle comes on strong but in fact, he is a nice person. 我叔叔（看似）強勢但其實人很好。
Her tattoos makes her look unfriendly but deep down she is a softie2. 她的刺青讓他看起來不好親近，但其實她內心是溫柔的。
At work, she comes across as an unapproachable and out of reach person. 在工作上，她給別人一種不好親近的距離感。

限動（二）亂中有序

“Method to the madness” refers to a situation where it seems chaotic or not having much logic or reason, but it actually has a purpose behind it.

It is often used to point out that someone’s mysterious behavior actually has a reason behind it. 「Method to the madness」指的是看似混亂、缺乏邏輯或理由，但實際上卻有其目的的情況。通常用來指某人的神秘行為背後其實有其原因。

不能完全等於中文的「亂中有序」，但是在有些情境中是可以用來翻譯的。

His leadership style seemed weird but after some time, people started to see there is method to the madness. 他的領導方法看似奇怪，但過一段時間後，大家開始注意到他其實亂中有序。
People thought that he was out of his mind, bringing a pigeon to his presentation, but in the end, they realized that there was method to the madness. 人們以為他瘋了，居然帶一隻鴿子發表報告，但看到最後大家才意識到原來他這樣做是有原因的。
Why is everything out on the table? -[Don’t question me. There is method to my madness.] 為什麼東西都在桌子上？別質疑我，我是亂中有序的。（開玩笑口吻）

限動（三）異性相吸

“Opposites attract“ is used to describe a phenomenon where two people with drastically3 different personalities or behaviors attracted to each other. 用來描述兩個性格或行為截然不同的人卻相互吸引的現象。

這句話不僅用在性別上喔！

I don’t believe that opposites attract because this kind of love usually wears off. 我不相信異性相吸，這種愛情通常都會消逝。
Despite their different backgrounds and personalities, they have been together for 17 years. I guess opposites attract! 儘管他們的出身和個性大不相同，他們已經在一起十七年了，我想異性相吸吧！
She is an outdoor person while her girlfriend is an indoor gamer. People say opposites attract. I think it is true in their case. 她是喜歡戶外活動的人但是女友卻是喜歡待在家玩電玩的人。人們常常說「異性相吸」，我想對他們來說真是如此。
